About Separation PA

Built From Experience

Designed To Help Families

As more families experience separation, there has been very little support focused on the practical tasks, paperwork and organisation involved.

Separation PA was created

to help fill that gap.

A children-first approach to separation support

Separation can feel overwhelming. The paperwork, decisions, communication, financial pressures and uncertainty can quickly become stressful and exhausting, especially while trying to protect your children emotionally throughout the process.

That is why Separation PA exists. Everything we do is grounded in a children-first approach.

We believe:

Children should be protected from adult conflict wherever possible

Calm and informed parents create safer environments for children

Parents who feel organised, supported and calm are better able to show up for their children and create healthier environments during difficult transitions

Bridging the gap in practical separation support

Separation PA was created because too many parents are left feeling overwhelmed and unsupported during separation, often trying to navigate an enormous practical and emotional workload on their own.

Many people do not know where to start, what documents they need, what systems to put in place or how to stay organised while managing the emotional weight of everything happening around them.

ONE RESOURCE

ONE SUPPORT SYSTEM

ONE STEP BY STEP 'TO-DO LIST'

While there are lawyers available for legal advice, there is very little dedicated support focused on the practical side of separation and the day-to-day organisation that comes with it.

The forms and the administration

The planning

The communication

The organisation

The systems

OUR AIM IS TO REDUCE:

Conflict

Stress and overwhelm

SEPARATION BURNOUT

Time spent figuring it out alone

Unnecessary expenses and prolonged legal battles

Parents are often left trying to figure everything out alone, spending countless hours researching information, managing paperwork and trying to stay on top of an overwhelming to-do list during one of the most stressful periods of their lives.

Separation PA was designed to bridge that gap by providing one central place for practical guidance, structured tools and hands-on support throughout the process.

We believe that when parents are well-informed, organised and clear-headed early, they are often better equipped to communicate, reach agreements sooner and reduce unnecessary conflict.

Emma's Story

Sunshine Coast, Australia

Over 20 years calling it home

Proud mum to Hudson

Family at the heart of everything

Business management & leadership

Professional background

Founder Of Separation PA

Emma's story is one of quiet strength, resilience and lived experience.

Originally from the UK, Emma has called the Sunshine Coast home for over 20 years and is a proud mum to her son, Hudson. Family, community and helping others have always been at the heart of who she is, which is a big part of what inspired the creation of Separation PA.

Having personally navigated three major separations in her own life, Emma understands firsthand the emotional, financial and practical challenges that can come with starting over. She knows all too well the emotional exhaustion and separation burnout that can occur while trying to hold life together, continue working, support children and manage the endless practical responsibilities that separation often brings.

Through her own experiences, Emma developed a deep appreciation for the importance of organisation, clarity and calm when life feels chaotic. She also understands that separation can impact far more than emotions alone, often leading to significant time away from work, financial pressure, lost productivity and ongoing stress while trying to rebuild life.

With a professional background in business management, leadership and coordination, Emma naturally brings structure and practical solutions to complex situations. She created the Practical Separation Essentials Kit and Separation PA to help parents organise the many moving parts that come with separation, from documents and communication through to planning the next steps forward.

Emma is deeply passionate about community work and supporting families through difficult periods in life. At the heart of her work is a strong belief that when parents feel calmer, supported and more organised, children are more likely to feel safe, secure and able to thrive.

She is also passionate about supporting people experiencing domestic violence and hopes to continue expanding support in this area by helping individuals access practical resources, guidance and support during extremely vulnerable periods.

Looking to the future, Emma also holds a personal vision of developing support services for widowed parents, recognising the unique emotional and practical challenges that come with losing a partner while raising children.

Emma is known for her kind, caring and steady nature, bringing reassurance and stability to people during uncertain times. She has an adventurous spirit and a love for the outdoors, especially climbing mountains, and strongly believes parents need to take care of themselves emotionally, mentally and physically so they can show up as the best version of themselves for their children.

A practical and human approach

At Separation PA, we take a practical, non-judgemental and human approach.

We understand every family situation is different and there is no single formula that works for everyone.

Rather than focusing on conflict, our support focuses on:

What we do

Practical organisation and systems

Practical guidance through overwhelming processes

Reducing stress and confusion

Supporting respectful communication

Helping parents feel prepared and informed

Keeping children emotionally safe throughout separation

We do not:

Provide legal advice

Focus on disputes or take sides

Offer professional emotional support

Instead, we work alongside parents and alongside other professionals to help create a calmer and more organised experience during separation.

Trusted Community Connections

Separation PA proudly works alongside organisations and communities focused on supporting families and creating healthier environments for children.

SUNNYKIDS

Sunny Kids is a Sunshine Coast-based charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families through crisis support, domestic violence assistance, homelessness prevention and family wellbeing programs. Their focus is helping create safer, more stable environments where children can feel supported, secure and able to thrive.

We are proud to provide SunnyKids with access to our practical resources and online tools to help support families going through separation. Our aim is to help their team provide clearer, more organised and practical support for the families they care for, ultimately helping create healthier and more stable environments for the children involved.

DADS COMMUNITY

We are proud to be a community partner of Dads Community and support the incredible preventative work they do for fathers and families. By helping dads feel connected, supported and mentally healthier, the flow-on effect creates better outcomes for children, co-parenting relationships and families as a whole.

Their focus on community, wellbeing and prevention aligns strongly with our belief that healthier parents create healthier environments for kids.

These partnerships reflect our shared belief that prevention, practical support and community connection can make a meaningful difference in the lives of parents and children.
